Booking your wedding photographer is a pretty big deal. After all, once the cake has been eaten, the flowers have gone and the dress is packed away, your photographs are one of the things you’ll have to take you straight back to your wedding day.
So, if you’re thinking about booking Countless Captures — or you’ve already got me in your diary (hello! 👋) — here’s a little look at what you can expect from me, from booking right through to receiving your finished gallery.
First things first… I want you to feel comfortable
If the thought of standing in front of a camera and being told how to pose makes you want to run in the opposite direction, you’re my kind of person!
My photography style is natural, candid and relaxed. I’m there to capture your wedding as it actually happens — the laughs, the nerves, the hugs, the happy tears, the ridiculous dance moves and all of those little moments you might not even notice on the day.
Of course, we’ll still get those important family photographs and some gorgeous shots of the two of you, but I won’t have you spending hours away from your guests posing for photographs.
Your wedding day is for **enjoying**, not for turning into a photoshoot.
Before your wedding
Once your date is secured, you can tick “photographer” off that very long wedding planning list!
As your wedding gets closer, we’ll have a pre-wedding consultation where we can chat through everything properly — timings, locations, photographs you definitely want, family combinations and all the little details that make your day yours.
It also gives you the chance to ask me anything you’re unsure about.
I’ve photographed a LOT of weddings over the years, so I’m also always happy to help where I can with timings and planning from a photography point of view.
On the morning
Depending on the package you choose, I may join you while you’re getting ready.
This is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph because there is so much going on — dresses hanging up, flowers arriving, makeup being finished, glasses being raised and that moment when it suddenly hits everyone…
**You’re actually getting married today!**
I’ll quietly capture everything happening around me rather than constantly stopping or directing you.
During the ceremony
This is where my documentary style really comes into its own.
I’ll capture the big moments, of course — walking down the aisle, seeing each other for the first time, exchanging rings and that first kiss — but I’m also watching everything else.
Your mum wiping away a tear.
Your best friend trying not to cry.
Your child peeking around the chairs.
Your grandparents holding hands.
Those photographs often end up being just as special as the obvious ones.
Your couple photographs
Please don’t worry about this bit!
You do **not** need to know how to pose.
We’ll usually sneak away for a short wander together and keep everything really relaxed. I’ll give you a little guidance when you need it, but I want your photographs to feel like the two of you — not like you’ve been placed into uncomfortable positions for the camera.
Chat, laugh, cuddle, walk and enjoy having a few minutes together away from the craziness of the day.
I’ll take care of the rest.
The moments in between
This is probably the biggest thing to expect when you book me:
**I’m always looking for the moments in between.**
The flower girl who has completely had enough.
Dad practising his speech in the corner.
Your friends laughing at something they definitely shouldn’t be laughing at.
Someone crying during the speeches.
Someone else absolutely going for it on the dance floor.
Wedding days aren’t perfect, polished productions — and that’s exactly what makes them brilliant.
I want your gallery to tell the story of what your day **felt like**, not just what it looked like.
And yes… there’s phone content too!
Alongside your professional photographs, I also capture little snippets of phone content throughout the wedding day where possible.
It means you get some lovely behind-the-scenes moments and little clips that feel completely different from your finished professional gallery.
And because I know how hard it is to wait when you’ve just had one of the biggest days of your life, I aim to get your highlights to you within **7 days**.
After your wedding
Then comes the editing!
Every wedding is carefully edited in my signature style before your finished photographs are delivered in your private online gallery.
Your full gallery is normally ready within **4–6 weeks**, and then you can relive the whole thing all over again — preferably with a drink and no plans for the next few hours because choosing your favourites is never easy!
Most importantly… I want you to enjoy your wedding
My job isn’t to take over your wedding day.
It’s to document it.
I want you to spend time with your guests, drink the fizz, eat the food, laugh until your face hurts and actually experience everything you’ve spent months (or years!) planning.
I’ll be there in the background capturing it all.
So when you look through your photographs years from now, I hope you don’t just remember what everything looked like.
